Nouhad Melki is an Anderson resident with Lebanese, immigrant roots. He followed his family’s long tradition of attending Anderson University, where he finished his 2021 degree in political science and national security, and minored in history.
Nouhad now lives in an Anderson apartment building with immigrants and international students who are too afraid to go outside — even for a grocery run — because of the fear that has gripped America’s immigrant-community since the offset of cruel, excessive immigration-enforcement operations in 2025.
With courage and compassion, Nouhad’s campaign is about standing up with Hoosiers like you, for his immigrant and international student friends who have been forced to live in fear.
Most especially now — as the State prepares legislation for aggressive immigration enforcement — Hoosiers need to stand up to bills like HB-1343 and SB-76, which consolidate enforcement power and threaten the sanctity of Indiana college campuses. If Hoosiers don’t join Nouhad in taking a stand, then more immigrants and international students — and even Indiana college campuses — will be forced to exist in fear.
Hoosiers like you have the power. Let’s use it, together.
Compassion is our compass; empathy is our strength. Together, we find the courage to stand up for one another.
With your help — through donating, volunteering, and voting — Nouhad will prove that Hoosiers are good, by winning the Democratic Primary on May 5.
